The Little Foxes

Little foxes are the seemingly little things that creep into your life to destroy.

I believe the Lord led me into a period in which He was teaching me about the little foxes.

You ask, why little foxes?

Same thing I asked Him. Until He led me to the book of Songs of Solomon (which by the way if you haven’t read its entirety then you haven’t fallen in love like you claim. hahaa …)

“O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the crannies of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely. Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.” (ESV Songs of Solomon 2:15)

See how in love this woman is! But she remained vigilant, recognising the little things that can destroy her blossoming love with her lover!

Oh how cute and snuggly these little foxes look!

Don’t you just want to scoop them up into your arms and hug them close, never letting go? They even look like some of the stuffed teddy bears some are going to be receiving on valentines day, *wink-wink*

But don’t be fooled by how cute or seemingly little they are! They are able to destroy an entire vineyard! How do they do this with such small features? Well, its one nibble at a time … a bite here… a gnaw there…

In this period of #queenestherpreparation don’t be fooled by the little foxes that come your way. Not speaking to your beloved for an entire day because you’re mad at him can look small after all, its just one day but then suddenly it becomes 7 days… or 10 days… or a month!

For 30 days, Esther hadn’t seen her king! I suppose this is how it may have played out;

“Queen, its been a day and you haven’t spoken to your husband!” said Esther’s maiden.

“Yes well, if he thinks I am going to send word to him then he must be joking…” said Esther, failing to realise the little fox of a grudge which was forming in her heart.

“Maybe you can leave a jasmine flower on his desk like you always do when he’s particularly busy.” said another of Esther’s maidens.

By this time the little fox is lying snug in Esther’s heart when she responds, “No I won’t.”

Later that night, king Ahasuerus searches his desk, hoping to see the jasmine flower that Esther always leaves behind whenever she misses him but failing to see such causes him also to embrace his own little fox as he thinks to himself, “Fine, if she doesn’t miss me then let me devote much time to this cause.”

Although this dialogue is entirely made up, I believe you get the point. It wasn’t until 30 days after, that Queen Esther recognised the little fox for what it was- a destroyer! She then arose to fast and seek the face of God; causing her to become a heroine to the Jews.

Maybe for you, your little fox might be a temper, a mood swing, a loose tongue…  a tit for tat attitude… white lies… and it seems “oh soo small” but in this #queenestherpreparation period, identify them and eradicate them before it becomes a full grown fox!

Even in building a business, church or a dream; there is the need to be mindful of the little things that try to creep in to destroy:

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man. (ESV Proverbs 6: 10-11)

Queen, be vigilant! Catch the little foxes and destroy them before they destroy your home! Destroy the little foxes that snuggly come in to destroy your relationship with God with simple things such as “Oh, I won’t make it to prayer meeting, I am going to the salon,” or Lord, I don’t feel like praying now… I have to sleep.”

These excuses seem so cute and minute but recognise them for the destroyers they are.

On this #queenestherpreparation; don’t let the cuteness of the foxes deceive you; go hand in hand with God, believing in Him to catch these little foxes from your life.

Jesus loves you and I do too,

Queens in Christ,
 ❤
